Epoxy Flooring for Hospitals & Clinical Facilities – Non-Critical Areas

Hospitals and clinical facilities require flooring that supports hygiene, easy cleaning, durability, and long-term performance. In non-critical areas such as corridors, waiting rooms, consultation rooms, offices, and administrative spaces, the floor must withstand regular foot traffic and frequent cleaning while maintaining a smooth and attractive finish.

Our Hospital & Clinical Epoxy Flooring System for Non-Critical Areas combines surface preparation, suitable primers, optional self-levelling treatment, and a seamless epoxy finish. The result is a smooth, hygienic, durable, and low-maintenance flooring surface designed for healthcare environments.

Suitable Applications

This flooring system is suitable for:

  • Hospital corridors and waiting areas
  • Outpatient clinics and consultation rooms
  • Reception areas and staff offices
  • Non-sterile pharmacy preparation areas
  • Diagnostic and administrative laboratories
  • Rehabilitation and physiotherapy rooms

Epoxy Flooring Installation Process

Step 1: Surface Preparation

Proper substrate preparation is essential for achieving strong adhesion and long-lasting performance.

  • Ensure the substrate is a sound and levelled screed with adequate strength, typically a minimum compressive strength
  • Mechanically grind or shot-blast the surface to remove laitance, weak material, and contaminants.
  • Remove oil, grease, dust, and other surface impurities.
  • Repair cracks, holes, and surface voids using a suitable epoxy repair mortar.
  • Check the substrate moisture content and ensure it is below 5% before proceeding.

Where a self-levelling layer is required, we can be applied to improve adhesion between the prepared substrate and the self-levelling screed.

  • Stir the primer thoroughly before application.
  • Apply evenly using a roller, brush, or spray.
  • Avoid excessive application or puddling.
  • Allow approximately short time for the primer to become tack-free before the next stage.
